GO HOME
*** On a side note, we have a few spots left. If your friends are interested, now is the time to book your ticket!
LISTS
We have already received many lists at this point. Having lists early helps us check them for errors. We want to ensure that every list is legal and we will contact you if there is something wrong. We will also be verifying lists at the door. Therefore you need to bring nine (9) copies of your list. One for every possible opponent, one for the judges, one for yourself. You will also need a 3 copies of your 500 point skirmish list, and 1000 point doubles list.
A note on doubles; if you submitted the lists separately, thats fine. For those who have still not sent doubles lists, send both together in one document. That is the easiest way for us to check. All lists can be submitted in ONE email. Again, if you have already sent it, then it is fine. This is for going further.
We are also extending the deadline for lists to be submitted to Wednesday october 5th, by the end of the day. If you submit your list by the end of the day today, 10/4/11, we are still rewarding those players with extra raffle tickets. You receive one raffle ticket for each list, Doubels, GT, and Skirmish.
PUNCTUALITY, PAINTING, THINGS TO BRING AND DO, VISITORS
As you will see in the schedule, we are starting early on Saturday. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time in the morning. Once the pairings go off, you will have 10 minutes to register before you are given an automatic loss in game one. If you are late, it takes away from the time you have to play the game and is unfair to your opponent.
You need to bring everything that pertains to your army: Codex, Rule book, pens, display board etc. We are not requiring display boards for painting but it does make your day easier transporting your army from table to table. ***You do not need dice or tape measurers. You will be supplied with them at registration. You MUST use the dice provided in the tournament for all rounds.
All models, MUST be WYSIWYG (Modeled appropriately). They must be based, meaning on the appropriate sized base. Flock doesnt affect your ability to play, just your painting score.
We will have an area for visitors, any guests not playing will not be allowed at the tournament tables. All things brought to the tournament are not the responsibility of the Tournament Staff and/or the Palisades Mall. Make sure you are aware of your things at all times.
I hope this email has cleared up any questions. Feel free to contact me on anything regarding this weekend.

All lists for each event (Doubles, GT, and Skirmish) must be submitted by the end of the day, Tuesday October 4th. For each list submitted, you will receive an extra raffle ticket for our raffle. BFS GT 2011 Email Update #1
by admin on Oct.04, 2011, under Uncategorized
I want to personally welcome all of you to The Battle For Salvation 2011. This is the second annual Grand Tournament being put on by the Battle for Salvation Gaming Club, and we look to make this experience bigger and better than last year. If you are receiving this email then you are registered for either the Grand Tournament or Doubles Team Tournament.
As a club, Battle for Salvation is no stranger to highly competitive, prize filled, and extremely fun events. If you have not played in any of our previous tournaments, or gamed with us on scheduled gaming nights, then you are in for a treat. Even if you are a regular at our club, or a club member, you will still be in for a surprise, as we plan to make this tournament the best gaming experience possible.
This is the first email you will receive. I will try be available for communication with our participants to ensure everyone has a fair chance to prepare themselves and get their money’s worth. This email will be general and discuss options that are available which you may not have known. I apologize for the length but I assure you, it’s worth it.
LOCATION, TRAVEL, HOTELS etc.
Our venue has been updated this year. The location of our tournament will be in the Palisades Center Mall, 1000 Palisades Center Drive, West Nyack, N.Y. 10994. This is an extremely large mall with great stores and restaurants. It truly is the best place for our event.
Once you get in the mall, you will need to go to the top floor. We are on the side of the mall with the skating rink. There is an area full of conference rooms. We will be in the largest room. Any mall official or directory can show you the way to us.
We assume many of our players will be coming from out of town. If this is the case for you, we have rooms reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn, Nanuet, N.Y. Unfortunately, we have not had many people make reservations for the rooms and our special block ends Saturday 9/17. Be sure you get your rooms at the discounted rate by registering now.
See the travel section on our website to make your reservations.
FORMAT, TOURNAMENT PREPARATION, REMINDERS
The Battle for Salvation GT utilizes a version of the NOVA format. For those who are unfamiliar with the NOVA, you can look under the Rules section of our website for details. Primarily, it is a win/loss format where your record on the first day will place all players in one of many 8 man, elimination brackets. The highest ranked players in the top bracket will compete for the title of Tournament Champion, and the other brackets will be competing for prizes and honors.
Under the rules section, we also go over the possible prizes you can win, and as you can see we have prizes for all types of gamers. We are working on adding and expanding some award categories. Again check the site frequently for updates. We want to give out as many prizes as possible to ensure everyone walks away with something for their money.
To avoid list errors, we are going to be checking players lists before the tournament. We need all lists emailed to battleforsalvationtourney@yahoo.com by the end of the day Thursday 10/5/11. If players submit their lists before that day they will receive one extra raffle ticket.
Armies are required to be painted at a standard three color minimum and based on an appropriate Games Workshop sized base. Models should be modeled appropriately with weapons and war gear. If models cannot meet any of these standards, judges will have the right to not allow those models to be played. If there is a model that is not supplied by Games Workshop, an alternate conversion, piece of war gear, or model will be allowed. This alternate must be appropriate size, of similar weaponry and on the correct base. IF there are any concerns or questions you can contact us to be sure your models are allowed.
Painting scores will be judged on Friday night during the open gaming, or Saturday during the GT. If you bring your army to be paint judged the night before, you will be receive one extra raffle ticket.
OTHER EVENTS, SIGN IN, GRAB BAG, RAFFLE and PRIZES
Attached to this email is the Weekend Schedule.
Friday afternoon we have a Doubles Team Tournament as our kickoff event. The doubles event rules are on our website in PDF format.
In the morning of the GT, you will be signed in and receive your name tag and grab bag. This grab bag will contain some tournament essentials. One of these is a dice cube from Games Workshop. We are requiring that all players play with their supplied dice.
On Sunday, all players play their first game. If you lose you will be eliminated. You will automatically be entered into a 500 point, skirmish tournament. You will need to have readied list and force for this event. Here you can win prizes and compete for more honors. A primer packet of our rules are on the website under the Rules section.
During day 1 of the GT there will be an ongoing raffle. Everyone will be given one raffle ticket at the start of the day. As you lose games, you will be given another ticket. This consolation may win you a prize. Once you win some loot you will be removed from the raffle. We are attempting to make everyone go home happy.
We have many prizes and awards for our tournament winners. We have the honor of giving out 4 NOVA Invitational Tickets for the 2012 NOVA tournament.
Again, I want to thank you for participating in our event. If there are any further questions regarding anything about our GT, let us know. Looking forward to seeing all of you in October.
Best,
-Bob Sinnott, Ed Miller, John De La Rosa, Fred Feddeck, and the rest of the BFS club
